Let’s get real for a minute…
Burnout doesn’t start with a breakdown.
It starts with ignoring small warning signs.
For me, it was:
• Working through lunch
• Not switching off notifications
• Trying to be “always productive”
• Guilt when I took a break
I chalked it up to ambition.
Turns out… ambition without boundaries is just exhaustion.
Here’s what changed everything:
1. I scheduled breaks like meetings
Not optional. This is where creativity lives.
2. I set real working hours
No working at midnight unless it’s actually urgent.
3. I started saying no
To things that drain time but don’t serve results.
Burnout isn’t something you fix with a weekend away.
It’s prevented by the small choices you make every day.
So this one’s my opinion (not a soft one):
If your to-do list is eating your life, it’s time to rethink your relationship with it.
